The Mentor Club

‘Mentor’ a trusted friend, counsellor or teacher, usually a more experienced person. The name mentor has been adopted in English as a term meaning someone who imparts wisdom and shares knowledge.

The student of a mentor is called a protege or a mentee.

What does a mentor do? They provide expertise to talented individuals to help them advance their careers, enhance their skills, build on their networks and develop a personal brand. A true mentoring relationship also works in both directions, the mentor learns about new ideas from the protege just as the protege discovers timeless wisdom from the mentor.

In many different arenas people have benefited from being part of a mentoring relationship, including:

  • Actors Laurence Olivier mentored Anthony Hopkins. Sally Field mentored Julia Roberts
  • Business people Freddie Laker mentored Richard Branson, Lee Walker mentored Michael Dell, Geoff Harris mentored Janine Allis, Ben Graham mentored Warren Buffet, and Warren Buffet is today still mentoring Bill Gates!
  • Musicians Johann Christian Bach mentored Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
  • Politicians Aristotle mentored Alexander the Great

So why should you attend a session at The Mentor Club? Aside from the obvious. We promise to provide you structured and inspiring sessions. Not only that we’ll throw a few famous names in the mix to get you excited. Learning and growing should be fun, not boring. This isn’t a mentoring program. It’s a learning place for young talented people.
